GETTING TO KNOW ME, ALISHA

Hey everyone, my name is Alisha Ackerman and I am from Charleston, South Carolina. I am here at Clemson University because I know that the education I will obtain over the next four years will be inimitable. Also, the people here at Clemson are absolutely wonderful. I have only been her since the twentieth and already I feel "at home". Currently, I am a communications major. I have not yet decided what I will do with my BA in Communications, but I do know the professors here at Clemson will help me decide my future ambitions. During my spare time, I enjoy playing sports or "hitting" the gym. Furthermore, I enjoy drawing, listening to music, writing poetry and eating. As a writer, I have strengths in providing ideas and using transitions.  From this class, I hope to learn how to properly conduct research in a "college" manner, how to provide a more in-depth analysis of a piece of writing, how to write better thesis as well as how to organize my papers more efficiently. One thing that surprises me about myself is although I consider myself to be a "good" writer and although I have been told that I am a "good" writer, I do not consider myself a "good" reader. I tend to find problems in understanding what I am reading as I read it. Besides developing into a better reader, I would also like improve my vocabulary skills. Together these things will make me a better writer and reader as well as help advance my skills as I enter the world of communications.
